Guy Bayley was attending physician of the Bloomingdale from 1830 to 1832, while James MacDonald on leave was visting asylums in Europe

MacDonald was Bloomingdale Attending Physician, 1829-1830 and 1832-1837. He was on leave from 1830 to 1832 for a research tour of the major asylums of Europe.

Neilson was Bloomingdale Asylum Attending Physician from 1819 to 1829. Unlike later Attending Physicians, he did not reside on the campus.
